Being & Doing
How are you doing? How have you been doing?
Have you been busy? I am busy, busy, busy…
Those little sentences are being increasingly heard those days and
some of us share of feeling overwhelmed in the Little Red Dot.
I am inviting to shift towards the fundamental question:
How are you? How have you been?
We are human beings, not human doings, right?
At the same time, being doesn’t mean doing nothing.
Both, being and doing are important.
The key point for most of us is to find our own balance between being and doing.
How to get in touch with the deepest part of ourselves, to be, to be fully engaged in our life and at the same time live our life in a constant busy mode and a fast pace environment?
Is our self-worth only measured on how busy we are or on how much we are doing?
The idea here is to shift from constant automatic and reactive busyness on autopilot to consciously being and actively being involved and engaged in our daily interactions, activities, environment and life.
What is it for you to be fully in the present moment?….
whether you are under the shower, commuting, in a meeting, playing with your kids, having dinner with friends or travelling with your family?
5 ways to practicing being conscious daily:
- Take a couple of deep breaths.
- Taste your cup of water, tea, coffee as if you never tasted it before.
- Give the person you are with your full attention.
- Give your phone a break.
- Allow yourself to be, just be.
It seems too easy to bring any benefit?
Well, give it a try and start noticing how you are, in the state of being.
We speak again…
